Pin It Organic Hoop Earrings with Carnelian Stones



I have made a series of these "Organic Hoop Earrings" over the past few weeks and am really pleased with them.

I have been wanting to do more with wire and metal and this was a good place to start. I used sterling silver wire to handforge these hoops. I then hammered them for strength and texture. I love the visible bumps and divots in the metal (yes...it was intentional!) On this particular pair I oxidized the metal and brushed the hoops for an antique finish.

I have been more busy than I had expected this holiday season. Fortunately, Etsy has given me an early Christmas present this year by featuring my jewelry in their gift guide sections! In ealrier posts I had noted that two of my items were featured this year: "Tweet Earrings" and "Flirty Floral Necklace".

The lovely people at Etsy send out a daily email showcasing hot products and gift ideas, with surprise special discounts for subscribers. All items featured are always handcrafted by talented artists and mostly one of a kind!

I am very excited to be participating in this event on November 22 at the Two River Theater in Red Bank, NJ. I will be one of 21 independent designers at the show. It is a juried show which features many talented artists. To see a list of vendors, visit the Made for You Showcase Website. There will be everything from sculpture to baked goods to jewelry!

It is also for a great cause. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to The Parker Family Health Center which provides health care to those in need. Free Food....Free Music....and Complimentary "Swag Bags" will be given to all attendees!

A little bit of Patina...

Pin It I have been experimenting with Patina finishes lately, and wanted to share some of my favorites with all of you.

The process takes quite a while to achieve the look that I am going for. Many layers of patina are painted on by hand, are left to dry, and painted on again and again to get the perfect shade and texture.

I have been pleased with my experimentations so far, and hope to continue to perfect the process as I learn from my mistakes! :-)

L. Rose Designs handcrafted jewelry is now available for purchase at Heritage Surf and Sport in Ocean City and Margate, New Jersey. Heritage is a one stop surf shop featuring clothing, accessories, and all your surfing needs. It is a really great store to stop in and check out if you are in the South Jersey shore area.

The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Currently on display at the shops are my necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
